Summer is almost officially over for another year and it's time to start making plans for the next holiday period - Easter. In just over six weeks Easter will be here and if you haven't already, it's not too late to make plans to visit the Queenstown Lakes District. The biannual Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow will be held at Wanaka Airport, just a short drive from Wanaka and an hour from Gateway Apartments. The spectacular airshow is the largest in the southern hemisphere and attracts around 65,000 people to the region so booking accommodation now is advisable. The Queenstown Bike Festival is also likely to attract another large group of competitors who will battle it out in the various events staged in the resort over the holiday weekend. There's so much going on in the Southern Lakes this Easter all you need to add to the programme is a little chocolate.
